Mining

Bayan Airag gold and silver mine operates open-pit techniques using excavators and haul trucks. Our waste dump and mining operate on a 24-hour basis with day and night shifts. The mine uses equipment such as two units CAT390 excavators , eight units of 55-ton CAT773E trucks, one units of Atlas Copco Power T35 drilling machine  and accessory equipment including CAT-D8R dozer,CAT-160K grader and CAT-980 loaders.

The mine follows a cycle of blasting, loading waste and ore then hauling it 1.5-2 km. Useful ore is hauled to the ROM stockpile and waste hauled to waste dump. Waste dumping process follows international standards by using boundaries and contouring to optimize rehabilitation. 

The blast materials are transported twice per month by an authorized explosive supplier company. The blasting magazine was built according to Mongolian blasting law and procedures. It’s located in highly secure location which is far from the open pit and local villages. Around 100 tons of blast materials and accessories are used.

Our mining department has 110 employees which include mine supervisors, mine engineers, surveyors, heavy equipment operators and administrative staff.
